A ride down the Florida Keys, with a bit of birding

You're never alone with a Pelican, in this case another Brown Pelican
If you are anywhere near the coast in Florida its almost guaranteed you are going to see a Pelican, and even more so down the Keys.
So we had a ride down the Keys falling into all the tourist traps along the way, (its a family holiday?)
We got as far as Lower Matecumbe, which is not that far considering the length the the chain, but there is only so much one can do in a day.

Oh my I've gone all arty farty, well  got to break the monotony some how

and a few pics I didn't want to mess about with. Great White Egret

terrific breeding plumage

A girl could go to the Oscars in an outfit like this

This Red-winged Blackbird seems to have its own stash of food.

Poor record pic of white-crowned Pigeon.

Lastly lizard of unknown species.

  1. A White-crowned Pigeon, well done Gordon! The Egrets are so lovely in their breeding plumage. Looks like you have had a wonderful holiday!

    1. Thanks Tammy, yes I have to say the birding has been great, to say nothing of the weather.
