ReplyDeleteA perfect post for the bird-theme!
ReplyDeleteWell done!
Hi Gordon It is lovely to see all the young gulls and great flight shots. I think those Mallards are both males in eclipse plumage. They have a yellow bill, females do not have that, they have a darker bill with a slight orange lower mandabile and also their breast has still got a bit of browny/orangey plumage.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful markings on the gull that thinks it's a gannet. And love the variety of perspectives of wings in flight.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of the flying gulls.
ReplyDeleteWow! You got a lot of great flight shots.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful serie of wonderful birds.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing :)
Greetings from Huldra in Norway :)
Nice flight images! I read that there are so many of these Lesser Black-backed Gulls in the UK that they are being exterminated.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Ken, In certain circumstances, gull are culled when they become a nuisence, in towns or factory area for instance. Lesser Black-backed Gull have been on the decline for some time now, so as far as I know culling this species is very much a no no.
DeleteAll the best Gordon.
I loved them all Gordon!!! You manage to post some great photos!! So very interesting and fun to view.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments,
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated, Gordon
