Great Mell Fell

Had a wander about on Mell Fell with my Daughter yesterday, really enjoyable, not many birds about a few Meadow Pipits, a Wren, and a Raven calling from some trees.
Looking across the Eden valley to the Pennines
and Cross Fell from half way up Mell Fell

Fox Moth Caterpillar

We found a few of the above as if there was a small colony of them, they were feeding on Bilberry not far from the summit of the fell. We didn't linger on the summit too long as the sun disappeared and rain started to come in from the West.

Took the Westies for their morning walk this morning and had a look in at the Flood ,the usual crowed of Lapwing were there, a few Starlings mixed in with them, and and also Mallard on the water. While I wandered about 2 lots mallard came in to the settling pond, maybe 2 dozen in all
