ReplyDeleteSo sad and unnecessary. Predators are an essential part of the ecosystem. My grandfather used to shoot what he called "Chicken Hawks," but they were buteos that mostly ate rodents. Now they are killing the wolves in Alaska and some other Western states because thy prey on game animals-- after all the expense and trouble that went into their reintroduction.

Gordon, sad indeed and so very unfortunate for the birds, but for those whom appreciated these wonders in nature. Your images are grand, and sad all at once, for who knows what became of each in this series later...
